This collective performance was filmed on February the 9th, 2015 at the City Hall of Paris’ 10th arrondissement during the opening of the Antarctica exhibition by Agathe Simon. On this occasion, an official tribute was paid to the famous French-Argentine novelist and explorer Gabriela Conti (1974-2010) – who does not exist.
Five years to the day after her tragic death at the South Pole, speeches were delivered in her honor by her sister Cecilia Conti, Agathe Simon and several elected officials : Mr. Rémi Feraud, Mayor of Paris’ 10th arrondissement, Mr. Éric Algrain, Deputy Mayor for Culture, and Ms. Lea Vasa, Deputy Mayor for Sustainable Development.
This performance is part of the multimedia cycle The Conti Project, created as a tribute to this imaginary writer.
